may 2026!
maddy and i volunteered at the broad street run and had to wake up and run over at 5am. we walked to fairmount the night before to watch the 76ers play their little hearts out for the last time but we revered and set our alarms. it was a little insane at first and so windy and cold but it was so fun watching everyone go by. i got like strangely emotional everytime i saw a woman pass by, like we've been running races for a while but sometimes just good ol feminism just gets me. also we got these awesome t shirts and free registration for the rocky run in the fall so i'll see you guys there.
i was so tired and cold after that but my mom was coming up to help me move out most of my stuff so i got straight to cleaning and i wish i could say she took most of my stuff but there was still so much and my dorm was just sad. we stayed in that night and made a yummy dinner as an attempt to clean our fridge out but i can report we failed. anyways the next day i met with my rha padawan and passed the torch, and then finally caught up with keira since she came back from rome! i quickly finished my essay outside and got on an indego with zach and rode to loco pez for cinco de mayo! we got pretty toasted from their special margs and realized we were going to be late to his honors graduation ceremony if we didn't speed so we rushed on to the bikes and made it just in time but seriously insane journey back for our states. the ceremony was super cute and we went to maxi's afterwards with conner's family where his dad gave us some great stories and very sepcific margaritas.
then suddenly it was two more days of graduation! i'm happy i got a trial of what all really entails because it was a lot. the first day was rainy and my feet really hurt if you guys care but i perservered. the whole school ceremony wasn't long anyways, and colman domingo was a fantastic speaker! i then ran around in my painful heels and took pictures of the roommates and i was very happy they were very happy with them. we then journeyed to jenkintown for just a few hours to find me a dress and have some milk tubes from human robot. then back to school for sleep since the big day was finally here!
engineering graduation wasn't as fun as the commencement but we got to watch zach walk the stage and had some quick bites at a reception. i then continued taking photos because i was on the clock all week. after some pictures we ate some seasame chicken at the wall and then farted around until dinner @ cuba libreeee. the food was divine and we all tried yummy rums and started our big evening off right. for those of you loyal fans you may remember zach's roommates winning a trivia night at maxis. well each weeks winners enter one big competetion and well guess what. they won that too. so this prize was a $150 gift card at the bar, so this night our tab was covered for a lot of beer or if you're me sneaky mixed drinks. i did get caught doing that but it barely made a difference. anyways there's a picture of conner reading in the bar and only one photo of the saga that was getting everyone back home.
the following day was my final move out which was supposed to be quick but after waking up at 2pm and realizing i owned way more than i thought we hanxiously finished packing around 6pm and were just throwing things in the car at that point. i guess that's evident in the photo. anyways! the next day was zach's graduation party! i made really cute pins and have been so excited for mine since. it was honestly a strange day but i think it was just the rain and the non stop week we had just lived.
the next days were rainy yet so fun! shane and cailyn's birthdays are super close and around memorial day so everyone took off for a super long weekend and we were having pretty epic evenings every day. we started with some good ol band practice and a shopping trip. for shane's birthday there was a barbeque and lots of guests and for cailyn's birthday we went into fishtown to picnic and had a delicious dinner. i ordered a pork schnitzel and a yummy ginger beer drink. i am pictured belowing smelling a peppermint drink in case you were concerned. conveniently across the street from picnic is philadelphia brewing company so shane, cailyn, zach, and i walked over and listened to some music while absolutely crushing their led zeppelin pinball machine while sipping on a ginger cider #iloveginger
as for the next few week or so, i have no photos to prove it but i moved everything in my room around because i'd like you to imagine a dog pacing and moving about their bed trying to settle, then replace the dog with me. i had so much to unpack it genuienly took forever and i just have to love every space i'm in so the only motivation was that zach would soon be making his first visit of the summer so i got my life together, dyed my hair, got a french pedicure, and put away the college bins with the help of mi madre. once he arrived, we had a fun evening with kai and owen that included my first time trying chilis. guys i didn't like it. anyways we made waffles for breakfast that day and went thrifting. the next day (of the heatwave btw) my mom took us to some antique shops and we found some neat things. nevertheless it was then goodbye reading and hello BEACH!! we took merrick out to manasquan and had the most lovely afternoon and although we had to drive through the rain storm and the power was out in jenkintown, we took our fuzzy brains and burnt bodies to bed (as pictured with koda)
car pickle featured to your right. ok the last days of this jenkintown stay were spent in a very special way. so one of our summer bucket list items was to have a movie marathon and i have never seen any star wars so the choice was simple. we chose release order and averaged a movie a day until we got to reading and we watched the last three episodes in one day. let me just say: wow. really incredible. sorry it took me so long dorks! oh one other thing to note was that those days were also spent on phoebe bridgers watch. if you aren't briefed, one of my favorite artists since forever, phoebe bridgers, randomly played a surprise show in roswell new mexico and every day after that in random cities across the country. i don't think i talked about literally anything else that week but the chances were momentarily pretty high that she would come to eastern pennsylvania and i would have dropped everything to see her. unfortunately that was not the case but i'm recieving word that you should probably come back to read next month's blog
what do we have here? oh yes a little hawk mountain panorama epicness. yes this glorious saturday started with a trip up the mountain. oh but just you wait, that's not all.
upon our arrival back in reading, we spent most of our time in front of the tv with legos, but a thrift trip and some outdoor lounging also happened. the next day we played some tennis and went mini golfing before coming home and ordering mexican for dinner. ok are you guys bored. i promise this last entry will be of interest for all.
on the hike we saw a few hawks but would you believe it, a huge rattlesnake was hiding under a boulder at the top! after i got some really epic things at the gift shop we got back in the car and headed to an antique store we saw tons of signs for on the way and it was epic. after checking out there we were getting ready to head over to pottstown to go on the yuengling factory tour when we realized we had 20 minutes to get there before the last tour so we skidaddled and found ourselves in the cold wet caves faster than we should have. the tour was awesome, zach was in heaven and i actually really enjoyed everything we tried. #beergirl? after zach had his gift shop fun we headed back home, but no trip up the mountain is complete without a cabela stop! we didn't stay for long though because we had tickets to a fightin phils game which was particularly fun because i haven't been in forever and zach hasn't been ever. well after a quick dinner we arrived at the stadium, but before finding my uncle anthony we saw some commotion and realized JOEY FREAKING CHESTNUT was there so we ran over and snagged a photo. now we did know he was going to be there but we were under the impression we would not actually meet him but we did!! the game concluded with a huge firework show and the cover band red hot philly peppers played a wonderful set. well after all that we were so sleepy we knocked out. and then jumpscare i braided zach's hair the next day during the best movie ever (revenge of the sith)
